Time To Say “Thank You” To Irvine CA Police Department – Need Your Help

13 Feb

If you work, live or do business in Irvine, California, you know you enjoy the benefits on a truly outstanding Irvine Police Department. It is not a coincidence that year after year our city is rated as the safest or one of the safest cities over 200,000 population in the nation. But we need your help in saying thank you to the men and women who work every day of the year to perform this service. On Thursday March 6, 2014 the Exchange Club of Irvine and the citizens of our community will host the annual Irvine Police Department Awards Banquet (5:30 pm at the Irvine Marriott Hotel, 1800 Von Karmen Ave., Irvine, Ca).
We need help to present this event saying “thank you” to our department members, the event is presented without cost to the City or taxpayers. Corporate or Community sponsors can help by buying 2 seats for $250, individual tickets are $60 each, and Corporate tables for 8 are $775. Email me at for more details.
On March 6 7 Lifesaving Awards, among other important recognition, will be presented. Let me tell you about just one of these stories, which is why I think your support is needed and justified. Last November, a high school student had collapsed on campus. An Irvine Police Officer was on the campus, was alerted by a student, immediately responded, determined the student did not have a pulse. The officer, with the help of an Assistant Principal, sent for help to retrieve a Cardiac Defibrillator, but began two-person CPR. For eight minutes, the officer continued CPR and administered shocks using the AED. Fire Authority personnel then arrived, assumed treatment and transported the student to Hoag Hospital Irvine where she had regained a faint pulse. She was later transferred to CHOC and treated by a Cardiac Specialist. This is the type of service we appreciate and recognize.
Can you help us do so?
